Prerequisites: Fire Inspector 1A, 1B, 1C, and 1D OR Fire Prevention 1A, 1B, and 1C OR five
(5) years as fire inspector in a California Fire Agency

  1. Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement (IFSTA, 8th edition, ISBN: 9780879396053)
  2. 2022 California Fire Code

Enrollment:  The course fee is $240.  Class will be filled on a first come, first served basis and is limited to 30 students.  Members wishing to attend are directed to register online and indicate whether they are paying by credit card, check, or cash.  A convenience fee of 2.3% will be applied to all credit card payments.  If paying by check, make it payable to the Fresno Fire Department (FFD).  Please note the course name in the memo section of the check.  Full payment is required to reserve a seat and complete registration.  Deadline for registration is October 3, 2025.

Cancellation & Refund Policies:  FFD may cancel classes for insufficient registration and issue a full refund.  If you must cancel your registration, please notify FFD as soon as possible.  Cancellations will be subject to a $25 non-refundable administrative fee.  No refund will be given if student cancellation occurs within seven (7) or less days prior to the course start date.  For assistance, please contact the Training Division at (559) 621-4200 or FireTraining@fresno.gov.
